The company founder and proprietor Claas-H. Braitsch looks back on a long nautical career as captain and shipping inspector. He knows all the ins and outs of the shipping sector, both at sea and on land. In 1988, he founded the firm Maritime Service & Transport Kapitän Claas-H. Braitsch, specialising in the supply of spare parts for shipping.

The promise of “delivery on arrival” – delivering the parts as soon as the ship arrives in port – has become the company’s trade mark over recent decades. Today, they deliver not only spare parts for ships but also other urgently needed items, transporting them correctly throughout the whole of Europe with a minimum of red tape.

Customs clearance is indispensable for deliveries of ship’s supplies. The company now operates as an authorised economic operator with its own open bonded warehouse for the clearance of all customer imports and exports. The customs clearance processes cover not just ship’s supplies but all other goods of customers throughout the entire Weser-Ems region. Another mainstay consists in the warehousing of shipping equipment, platforms and containers, as well as summer and winter tyres This service includes delivery and collection of tyres to and from the customers directly on the agreed tyre fitting date.

Thanks to many years of service on heavy-lift vessels, the company also performs the role of cargo supervisor or port captain for ship loads as cargo supervisor or port captain on request, including the provision of lashing material and lifting gear for shipping.
