Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH

The North Sea island of Borkum is the largest of the East Frisian islands and has approximately 300,000 guests staying here every year with around 2.5 million overnight stays. Borkum is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. It is a state-approved North Sea health resort and bears the ECARF seal as an “allergyfriendly island” and the Thalasso region seal. Nordseeheilbad Borkum GmbH is a subsidiary of Borkum municipal authority. It pools all municipal economic activities on the island. It runs public tourist facilities such as the “ Gezeitenland Wasser & Wellness” adventure pool and spa, the North Sea Aquarium, the new lighthouse, the tourist information service, the “Kulturinsel“ event venue and the “Spielinsel” indoor play centre. It is in charge of managing the entire beach and the beach related infrastructure, marketing of the island, providing it with power, water and heat, and operating the Nordsee Windport Borkum as well as most of the port and the island airfield.
